Danish sportswear label Hummel and Japan’s Mita Sneakers have announced a new unique Marathona OG design inspired by salmon. Salmon is the key ingredient in traditional dishes in both nations, sushi in Japan and smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) in Denmark.
The Hummel x Mita Sneakers Marathona OG features a green, gray and brown upper referencing the Danish rye bread used for smørrebrød, Nordic pine forests and the typical color scheme of traditional smørrebrøds restaurants. These colors contrast a striking salmon toe constructed from premium suede and durabuck leather. The in-sock and lace tips feature subtle branding, and the collaboration includes two lace options: gray, and white and blue.
